In Flanders Field 2020, Limited Edition Print, Rasmus Stride

NOK 1,800.00
Sold Out

Artist: Rasmus Stride

In Flanders Field 2020 is a work inspired by the famous World War I poem by John McCrae. By depicting a poppy field overwhelmed by alien clouds, Rasmus wanted to resemble the bleak but beautiful scene expressed in the original poem. In contradiction to the Ypres battlefields of 1915, no physical battle is happening, however the cloudy volumes give a strong resemblance to gas clouds. The gas used by Germany in the battles of 1915 (xylyl bromide), was the deadliest bioweapon in the world at the time. The shock of its violence draws close resemblance to the dangerous Covid-19 virus, the political and civil unrest all over the world in 2020.

Size 50x70 (500 x 700 mm )
Edition of 5. Signed and numbered.
Digitally printed on 200g paper.
